Question title

What concerns do you have about the structural solution referred to as Channel Improvements? Choose as many as apply.

Channel Improvements

For the structural solution referred to as Channel Improvements, the City would improve the existing drainage infrastructure in the neighborhood through a construction project. The City would work with a local engineering consultant to develop construction plans and specifications for the project. After the completion of the plans and specifications, the City would hire a contractor through a bidding process to construct the project. Construction activities would be managed and inspected by City staff to ensure constructed infrastructure meets required standards and community needs.

-Removes flood risk to all 15 homes

-Increases capacity of existing channel

-Promotes ecological diversity

-Impacts large, established trees in project area

-Street flooding may continue to be an issue on Paces Mill Ln

-May take 2 years before construction begins

What concerns do you have about the Optional Buyouts solution?

What concerns do you have about the Optional Buyouts solution?

The City purchases homes when other structural or maintenance solutions are infeasible, ineffective, or unjustifiably costly. Offers would be for the fair market value of the house as determined by an independent appraisal and would be optional.

• Quickest solution – 1 year timeframe for 1st round of offers

• Flood risk is eliminated completely for the resident/owner/City

• This solution only helps residents that accept the buyout offer

• Structures purchased would be demolished and converted to parkland
