The project logo Hillsborough County - Hazard Mitigation Survey

Hazard mitigation plans, such as the Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS), are a consistent effort for most cities, counties, and municipal planning organizations that are used to identify and assess vulnerabilities and risks, as well as to manage and build resilience capacity within local communities.

The Local Mitigation Strategy is a document that identifies potential hazards that may impact Hillsborough County, including the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City. Additionally, the strategy includes an assessment of the areas that are vulnerable to hazards and identifies possible actions that can mitigate potential damage.
