Gananda Parkway Pedestrian & Bicycle Active Transportation Plan
The Gananda Parkway Pedestrian & Bicycle Active Transportation Plan (ATP) is currently being developed to identify strategies to enhance quality of life and economic development while improving public health by making walking and bicycling safe, viable modes of travel within the ATP area.
The first public meeting was held in August 2020. The topic to assess existing conditions and needs. The Report is posted below under Documents. It includes various data, insights and local knowledge to help shape potential solutions and improvements.
The second public meeting will be held in January 2021 to present the draft recommendations of the Study and solicit feedback.

Intersection of Gananda Parkway and West Walworth Road
To address a pattern of right-angle crashes, two alternatives are being investigated for the intersection of Gananda Parkway and West Walworth Road.
Alternative A - All-way Stop Control
Alternative B- Roundabout
Intersection of Gananda Parkway and Waterford Road
To reduce queuing and discourage drivers from passing on the shoulder, the following improvements are being investigate for the intersection of Gananda Parkway and Waterford Road:
- Southbound Left Turn Lane
- Eastbound Left Turn Lane
Gananda Parkway Pedestrian and Bicycle Accommodations
To improve pedestrian and bicycle accessibility along Gananda Parkway, the following accommodations are being investigated as part of the plan.
- Multi-Use Trail along the north side of the road from View Pointe Drive to Waterford Road.
- Pedestrian sidewalk along the south side of the road between Eagles Roost Lane/Dewberry Lane and Evergreen Hills Drive
- Pedestrian crosswalks on Gananda Parkway at Eagles Roost Lane/Dewberry Lane and Evergreen Hills Drive
Intersection of Gananda Parkway and Hance Road
An alignment improvement is being investigated for the intersection of Gananda Parkway and Hance Road to improve sight distance and reduce turning radii.
