Airport Hwy (State Route 2) & South Byrne Rd Intersection Improvement (LUC-2-13.77, PID 108465)
The Project
The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) proposes to improve safety and efficiency at the State Route 2 (SR 2/Airport Highway) and South Byrne Road intersection by:
- Adding a second left turn lane from northbound (NB) Byrne Road to westbound (WB) Airport Highway; adding a second left turn lane from eastbound (EB) Airport Highway to NB Byrne Road; adding a right turn lane from EB Airport Highway to southbound (SB) Byrne Road;
- Constructing concrete islands to improve right turn angles & raised concrete medians to reduce conflict points
- Installing new signals
The project is expected to require permanent and temporary right-of-way near the intersection. Construction is currently scheduled to begin the spring 2023 and last through fall of 2023.
