Wimauma Plan in Action: Laying the Foundation for a Revitalized Wimauma
Welcome to the public engagement hub for the Wimauma Plan in Action! Over the past two years, the community of Wimauma Village has successfully completed the Community Plan. Now is the time to put this plan into action. This engagement hub is intended to be a collection of updates as we progress through the project, and to gather public input from residents throughout this project. This virtual public engagement will be open to visitors until March 31, 2023.
In October 2021, the Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners adopted the Wimauma Community Plan, along with land development regulations. These regulations addressed development outside of the downtown core. Now, the County has moved to the next phase of implementation, revitalizing Wimauma’s downtown core. A lively, connected downtown is the heart of the Wimauma Community Plan. To that end, Hillsborough County contracted Urban 3 and the University of South Florida to conduct an in-depth analysis of Wimauma and assist in the creation of an implementation strategy for a downtown core.
The community meetings and planning sessions are complete and Wimauma's Plan in Action can be viewed below. We welcome your feedback! After reviewing the plan, please leave your comments on the second tab.
