The purpose of the project is to improve safety and reduce congestion

Broad Street serves approximately 25,000 vehicles per day and Hamilton Road serves just over 20,000 vehicles per day. The intersection is highly congested and there are multiple access points to adjacent properties very close to the intersection. This has led to a high percentage of rear-end, angle, and left-turn type crashes.

  • 124 total vehicle crashes reported at this intersection from 2015 through 2017
  • #23 on the ODOT Highway Safety Improvement Program 2018 list for Urban Intersections
  • #36 on the MORPC high crash intersection list for 2017
  • Included on Governor DeWine’s 150 Intersection Safety List
