Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan
A comprehensive plan is a document with maps, graphics and words that is adopted by City Council to guide future decisions about how Charlotte will grow. A comprehensive plan is likened to the City’s guiding light, determining a community’s goals and aspirations for the future. It addressed the built environment and layout of our city, helping to shape where we live, work, shop, and play…it is a big picture of where we want to be 20 years from today.
Following the adoption of The Charlotte Future 2040 Comprehensive Plan in June 2021, Charlotte City Council adopted the Charlotte Future 2040 Policy Map on March 28, 2022.
