SCOPING PHASE REPORT

On Jan. 19, 2022, the study team hosted an Online Public Scoping Meeting to provide information about the environmental process and to gather public input related to transportation needs and environmental concerns within the study area. The study team also held a formal comment period from Jan. 19 – Feb. 20, 2022, during which the public could submit their questions or concerns (see the Public Meetings tab for more information).

The next phases of the study will include developing alternatives, analyzing environmental resources and preparing a draft environmental assessment (EA). Comments received during the Scoping Phase help inform the study team as they refine the study’s Purpose and Need. They will be considered when the team develops design solutions. The draft EA will be available for public comment in summer 2022.

PUBLIC INVOLVEMENT EFFECTIVENESS SURVEY

Help us evaluate our outreach and involvement efforts! The study team is hosting a Public Involvement Effectiveness Survey to gather feedback from the public on how we can improve our communication with you. Topics in the survey include the accessibility of the Online Public Scoping Meeting, how easy study information is to understand, the study outreach process and more. By taking this survey, you will help UDOT understand how to communicate with you more effectively.

The survey will be open from Monday, March 21, to Monday, April 4. The results of this survey will inform UDOT as to how they can meet the communication needs of residents and community members. All responses will be completely anonymous. We appreciate your participation!

STUDY OVERVIEW

The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has initiated an Environmental Assessment (EA) that will evaluate the I-15 Pleasant Grove Boulevard interchange and surrounding area in Pleasant Grove and Lindon in Utah County.

This study is being conducted to address current and future traffic conditions and safety in Utah County. Other needs may be identified as the study progresses.

2017-2020

Pleasant Grove Boulevard Interchange Studies

• Evaluated the transportation needs of the I-15 and Pleasant Grove Boulevard interchange, Pleasant Grove Boulevard and North County Boulevard intersection.
• Identified proposed connections to Proctor Lane.
• Developed possible solutions for transportation needs identified.

2021

Preliminary Data Collection

• Updated traffic modeling and refined area needs.
