I-15 Northbound – Reduced Travel Lanes

Crews are continuing work on the I-15 median structure to complete trenching just north of the I-15 Exit 338. I-15 northbound will have reduced travel lanes on Friday, Dec. 12 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should plan ahead and expect intermittent delays during this work.

Did you know?

Trenching on I-15 allows crews to access and upgrade underground drainage and utility systems that help protect the roadway from flooding and long-term wear. Once the work is complete, the trench is backfilled and compacted in layers to ensure a smooth, durable road surface for drivers.

5600 South – Overnight I-15 Southbound Ramp Shift

Beginning Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., crews will shift traffic to the west to continue construction on the SPUI (Single-Point Urban Interchange) interchange.

A SPUI is a special kind of highway interchange where all left turns are controlled from one traffic signal, making it look like a giant "X" and helping lots of cars move more efficiently through tight areas. Drivers should expect minimal to intermediate delays during this work.

Upcoming and Ongoing Activities

5600 South – Intermediate Lane Closures

Through the winter months, crews will implement occasional intermediate lane closures along 5600 South in both directions to accommodate finalizing flatwork (curb, gutter, sidewalk) between 2700 West and 3500 West. Crews will maintain one lane in each direction. Drivers should plan for slower traffic and delays during peak commute hours.

6000 South – Drainage Activities

Crews recently began irrigation and storm drain work on the north side of of 6000 South near 2050 West, including cleanup around the pond. During this work, crews encountered an unknown utility line, which has delayed the remaining work for a few weeks.

Flagging operations will be in place through mid-December. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and expect light delays. The road and business access will remain open to traffic, and the area will be plated each evening for safe travel.
