UDOT and the project team collaborated with community partners and celebrated National Work Zone Awareness Week at Roy Elementary by hosting a safety assembly and activities for K–6th grade and made sure to "Go Orange" on April 17. Go Orange Day is especially important to the families of victims who have lost their lives in the work zones.
As young individuals, it is important to understand the potential hazards in construction work zones and how to stay safe. Some work zone safety tips that were shared with the students:
By taking these precautions, students walking near work zones can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience during road construction. You can view the local story published here.
