The Wake Transit program is a taxpayer-supported investment approved by voters in 2016 to optimize public transportation in Wake County. To accomplish Wake Transit program goals, teams of transit professionals within GoTriangle and the NC Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (CAMPO) partner together to lead the development of an annual budget and strategy known as the Wake Transit Work Plan. During the fiscal year, there may be changes to the approved Wake Transit Work Plan projects, or there may be a need for projects to be added or removed on a quarterly basis. The recommended administrative process for handling amendments (changes) to the adopted Work Plan is guided by the Wake Transit Amendment Policy. Each year, the policy is reviewed, and if adjustments are recommended, community members have an opportunity to offer input concerning those policy amendments during the public review and comment period.
This year, CAMPO and GoTriangle determined the need for additional language in the policy to address administrative gaps and to align the policy with other schedules and policies being developed. The public comment period for this year’s update is open from Monday, August 15th, 2022 through Tuesday, August 30th, 2022.
