Envision Matthews

The Town of Matthews is in the final stretch of developing a new Comprehensive Plan and Downtown Plan. The plan will guide development in Matthews, provide a roadmap for future growth, and create strategies to implement the community's vision. The initial community survey was closed in April. Nearly 800 people submitted responses. (Results can be found below.) Town representatives have also been at several community events to discuss the plan and gather feedback. In May, the Town held an open house at the Sportsplex. 80 people (including lots of kids) attended the meeting to learn about the plan and to offer thoughts on the future of Matthews. Our consultants have been compiling all of the input and using their expertise to develop recommendations for the Town. In the coming months, they will be refining the recommendations and presenting them to the Board of Commissioners.

On Thursday, September 28, the Town held a second open house to get feedback on recommendations and possible future scenarios developed by the consultant team. We had a great turnout, but we also understand that not everyone can show up at a public meeting on a weeknight. Scroll down to see the recommendations from the meeting and to offer your input.
