Dog lovers committing to doing their part for healthy dogs and a healthy community
We love our dogs. They make us laugh with their mischief. They are our protectors and our best friends. They teach us just as much as we teach them. Why wouldn't we do everything we can to keep them healthy?
We love our vibrant community. Our farms, forests, and beaches feed our bodies and our souls. A healthy community begins with healthy people. People cannot be healthy if there's poop in the same water that we play in and harvest seafood from.
What's the problem? DNA analysis has confirmed that dog poop is in the water everywhere we looked. Dog poop has more E. coli and fecal coliform bacteria in it than human poop does. Plus, it has viruses and parasites that can make other dogs and people sick. Parasites can live a year or more in the soil and water, long after that poop has disintegrated.
Please join us in pledging to be PoopSmart by scooping the poop in your yard regularly! Scooping the poop in our yards keeps our dogs AND our community healthy. As a small thank you, we'll send you a magnet photo frame like the one below.
Did you get here hoping to find more information about the DNA study? You can find the report here: http://bit.ly/CleanWaterNews, called "2019-2020 MST Results." Don't forget to take the pledge when you're done reading!
For this reason, I PLEDGE TO:
THANK YOU for committing to being part of the solution to clean water!
