Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery Survey
Hillsborough County anticipates receiving a little more than $709 million in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) to assist with recovery and mitigation efforts related to Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The grant will help local communities and neighborhoods with the greatest unmet long-term recovery needs.
The County is in the early stages of planning for the grant and is seeking input from residents, community partners, and local cities to better understand the unmet disaster recovery needs. This survey will help Hillsborough County develop an action plan for proposed uses of potential funds to support long-term recovery and mitigation in disaster-impacted communities. This includes restoration of infrastructure (roads, drainage, water, and sewer systems), affordable housing, economic revitalization, and improvements in the most impacted and distressed areas.
