Park and Rec Draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan
Park and Rec Draft ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan
Welcome to the Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department’s public engagement site for the ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan Update.
Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department (MCPRD) is committed to creating a culture of inclusion. Part of building and maintaining this culture revolves around creating public spaces that are as accessible, welcoming, universally designed and developed with all community members in mind. To continue moving towards this culture of inclusion, in November 2015, Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Department (MCPRD) along with Mecklenburg County Government, began the process of reviewing and updating the existing Departmental ADA Transition Plan and ADA process.
Prior to the development of the updated transition plan an ADA Self-Evaluation was completed focusing on all physical spaces, policies, programs, activities, and services. This Self-Evaluation forms the backbone of the ADA Transition Plan providing us with information on both physical space and on program access, communication access, and any barriers to full inclusion.

We welcome your involvement in the next step of developing the updated ADA Transition Plan and encourage your involvement in all public engagement opportunities.
