Catoctin Creek Cluster Nomination

Catoctin Creek Cluster Nomination

The Rustic Roads Program is designed to protect the County's most historic, scenic, and unaltered rural roads through keeping them low volume and safe for all road users. The rustic quality of these roads reinforces and contributes to the rural character of the landscape. When properly maintained, a rural road offers users a more intimate and natural experience.

The close-knit network of roads surrounding the Catoctin Creek are low speed and low volume and offers a unique experience for all road users in Frederick County.

The Rustic Roads Commission is nominating the Catoctin Creek Cluster as the first group nomination to the Rustic Roads Program. This nomination is based on the natural, cultural, historical and other character defining features that make this cluster a defining network of low volume roads.
