Your City ~ Your Plan

The City of Havelock has initiated the preparation of an updated CAMA Land Use Plan (CAMA LUP) for the Havelock planning jurisdiction.  The final document will serve as a comprehensive plan for future public investment to achieve the community’s overall vision.  The intent of this project is to draft a plan that will maintain the positive attributes of the existing Plan, while identifying new and strategic development goals and policies, and new and strategic public initiatives supported by the community.

Recognizing that a collaborative effort with the public is essential, the initial step in the planning process was the adoption of a Citizen Participation Plan (CPP) by the Havelock Board of Commissioners.  Approval of the CPP was accomplished on August 9, 2021.  The Havelock Board of Commissioners has appointed a Citizen Advisory Board to supervise the preparation of the draft CAMA LUP for presentation to the Havelock Planning Board.  The Citizen Advisory Board will act in an advisory capacity to the city staff, consultant, Planning Board, and Board of Commissioners during the planning process.  The updated CAMA LUP will be drafted by Insight Planning & Development, the City’s consultant.  Upon recommendation of the Planning Board, final approval will be by the City of Havelock Board of Commissioners.
