Boone Paved Trail Feasibility Study Public Survey
Boone Paved Trail Feasibility Study Public Survey
Feasibility Study Overview
The Town of Boone was awarded a grant by the N.C. Department of Transportation's Integrated Mobility Division (IMD) to conduct a feasibility study to determine the best greenway and sidewalk route to improve connectivity and mobility to various parts of the Town. Feasibility studies bridge the gap between conceptual planning and programming of projects. They build upon higher-level planning efforts and take a comprehensive approach to identify possible route alternatives of multimodal corridors. Specifically, the study will evaluate the potential to have a shared path on Faculty Street from Holmes Drive to Highway 105 and on Winkler's Creek Road/Greenway Road from Wilson Drive to the intersection of Leola Street and Pride Drive or a greenway path following Winkler's Creek. Pride Drive is the end of the current greenway and where the project location would begin to create a continuation or Phase II of the existing greenway trail.
