PROJECT UPDATES
Construction Activities April 11 - April 20
Upcoming Activities
Due to weather, the driveway work scheduled at 1220 West has been rescheduled. Once the new date is confirmed, we will advise the area businesses. Storm drain work will require closure of the driveway for two days. Patrons to the business complex should enter from 1300 West - see the detour map for additional information.
Ongoing Activities
State Street to 700 West
Once overnight temperatures are consistently over 50 degrees, crews will begin the asphalt repairs on 9000 South between 700 West and State Street. Once the minimum temperature has been reached and paving activities scheduled, that information will be shared on the weekly update email.
FYI - Daytime paving activities on 9000 South are not encouraged/permitted due to the significant disruption to traffic along this busy corridor thus requiring paving activities to be conducted overnight.
700 West to 900 West
Work continues on the outside lanes for the new bridge over the Jordan River.
Work on the storm drain, irrigation, and water services lines may require short-term drivway access interruptions. Alternate business accesses are open and posted.
Patrons to the River Oaks Driving Range may only enter and leave eastbound on 9000 South. See the detour map below.
900 West to 1300 West
Overnight work continues between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. in the intersection of 1300 West 9000 South for canal irrigation line installation. This work will take place nightly through April 13.
Motorists can expect nighttime lane closures on 9000 South and 1300 West along with periodic closures of southbound 1300 West. When southbound 1300 West is closed, use Redwood Road to 9800 South as an alternate route.
Work on the storm drain, irrigation, and water service lines may require short-term driveway access interruptions. Alternate business accesses are open and posted.
1300 West to Redwood Road
Work on the storm drain, irrigation, and water service lines may require short-term driveway access interruptions. Alternate business accesses are open and posted.
The northbound right turning lane from Redwood Road to eastbound 9000 South will be closed while crews upgrade a water main.
Motorists wishing to turn right will use a shared straight/right lane. Please be prepared for sudden stopping traffic and extended travel time through the corridor.
Bridge Girder Placement
See the time lapse video of the crews placing the girders on 9000 South over the Jordan River.
Bridge Deck Concrete Pour
See the time lapse video of crews pouring concrete for the southern deck of the bridge over the Jordan River.

Closures
Eastbound 9000 South left turn closed at 700 West
The left turning lane to 700 West from eastbound 9000 South will be closed. This closure is expected to last through Summer 2024. Traffic should use Sandy Parkway (450 West) as the detour route. Click here to see the recommended detour map.
This closure is necessary to ensure safety as there is insufficient room to install a left-turning lane.
