Welcome to the public engagement opportunity for Lithia Pinecrest Road at Adelaide Avenue Intersection improvement project. Your responses will help Hillsborough County gain insight into the proposed safety enhancements, CIP# 69679025. This virtual public engagement will be open from Tuesday, Oct. 18, to Monday, Oct. 31, 2022.
Project Details:
This project will improve transportation mobility and safety for vehicles and pedestrians by installing a new traffic signal at the intersection of Lithia Pinecrest Road at Adelaide Avenue/Lithia Ridge Boulevard.
Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2023 and is expected to be complete by early 2024.
Additional elements of the project:
- Convert the existing two-way, stop-controlled intersection at Lithia Pinecrest Road and Adelaide Avenue/Lithia Ridge Boulevard to a signalized intersection.
- Provide a sidewalk connection from Lithia Pinecrest Road to the Lithia Ridge Subdivision Community Park.
- Resurface Lithia Ridge Boulevard from Lithia Pinecrest Road to Harrogate Drive.
- Install a left-turn lane from westbound Adelaide Avenue onto southbound Lithia Pinecrest Road.
- Implement Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) improvements, including:
- sidewalk reconstruction on the southeast quadrant of the intersection
- construction of pedestrian curb ramps on the northeast, southeast, and southwest quadrants of the intersection
- addition of high-visibility crosswalks on the south and east legs of the intersection
During this time, residents and motorists traveling on Lithia Pinecrest Road and Adelaide Avenue/Lithia Ridge Boulevard should be aware of the following:
- Lane closures will be allowed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
- Night work and traffic shifts may be necessary on Lithia Pinecrest Road between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
