BP13.R002: New House Road over Sandy Run Creek
The N.C. Department of Transportation proposes to replace the bridge on New House Road over Sandy Run Creek in Rutherford County.
The purpose of this project is to provide a safe crossing of Sandy Run Creek on New House Road. While the bridge is currently safe for traffic, it has become structurally deficient and is approaching the end of its functional life. A bridge is considered structurally deficient if it is in relatively poor condition or has insufficient load-carrying capacity. The insufficient load capacity could be due to the original design or to deterioration.

Detour Route
During construction the bridge will be replaced in its existing location and will require an off-site detour, illustrated below. Construction is anticpated to last 12 months.
