MTP and TIP Overview
A quick guide to the contents and process for the MTP an TIP update.

Volume I: Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP)
The MTP is a federally-required long-range planning document that evaluates existing travel conditions, forecasts future needs, identifies potential strategies and solutions, and recommends project and programmatic investments over a 20+ year horizon.

Volume II: Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)
The TIP represents the programming for a prioritized list of projects to be funded and implemented in the near-term years of the adopted long range MTP. State and federal funds are allocated for capital projects to include roadway improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, trails, transportation technology, transit, and airports.

Volume III: Conformity Determination Report (CDR)
The CDR documents the transportation conformity requirements for the Atlanta air quality maintenance areas.

Volume IV: Community Engagement Report (CER)
The CER documents the community engagment process for the MTP, TIP, and CDR. The document will not be complete until after the public review and comment period from October 27th to December 8th, 2023.
