Capital Improvement Projects
Teton County Parks and Recreation has three Capital Improvement Projects underway this year. In an effort to keep the community informed on the progress and any impact that it might have on your family, we are creating this page for updates on each of the three projects.

Alta Community Park Sports Courts:
We have tentative dates for public meetings: Teton County Planning Commission on October 9 and the Board of County Commissioners on November 7.
Jackson Hole Skatepark:
Skatepark is open! There will be some landscaping activities, but the park will remain open.
Pathways Capital Maintenance:
2024 maintenance complete.
Wilson Boat Ramp:
August 20-26, 2023: Restrooms are open, with work on the loop road and restroom path continuing.
Outlook for August 27-September 2: Work on the loop road will continue.
Alta Community Park Sports Courts:

Pathways Capital Maintenance:
July 30- August 5, 2023: No activity
Outlook for August 6-12: There will be intermittent closures on three pathways August 7-11 for yearly maintenance. The effected pathways are the Paul Merritt (S89), Moose-Wilson north of the Pines, and the Teton Science School Connector.
Wilson Boat Ramp:
July 30- August 5, 2023: Work on the loop road continues.
Outlook for August 6-12: Work on the loop road will continue and work on the path to the new restrooms begins.

Jackson Hole Skatepark:
July 23-29, 2023: All concrete is poured except for a section on the west side. We have some amazing photos donated by David Agnello Photography taken on July 27, that show how much has been completed.

Jackson Hole Skatepark:
July 16-22, 2023: Work on the east and north side of the park in almost complete! The miniramp is finished and concrete work has begun on the west side.

July 16-22, 2023: Work is paused.
Outlook for July 23-29: Fill operations resume around the new restrooms and loop road. Dumptrucks may be able to exit the loop after deliveries by the end of the week. They will be exiting out on the levee/access road with boatramp traffic, so minor delays could happen. Please plan accordingly and leave extra time. Boat ramp will be open as usual. Have a great week on the river!

Alta Community Park Sports Courts:
The Alta Sports Courts Project is going through the permitting process! We have submitted for a Conditional Use Permit Pre-Application Meeting, and after that is complete, we will have a checklist of what is needed for the CUP permit application. Then we will submit the application for the CUP. The CUP process includes public meetings with the Planning Commission and the County Commission, where you can speak or write in your comments. Those who live close to the park will get a letter from the Planning Department, and there will also be a large sign at the park entrance to let you know the about the public meetings.
Below is a draft plan that we included in the our preapplication meeting request (subject to change).

June 4-10, 2023: This has been a great week, with the concrete work beginning and the park really taking shape. We also have aerial photos taken last week, donated by David Agnello. They give you a really good idea of the scope of the expansion!

Outlook for : There may be an increase in wait times while the stockpiles are moved to allow for more turnaround space at the beginning of the week. Construction activites will focus on the new loop after that, so the boat ramp traffic flow should be normal.

May 14-20, 2023: Work is progressing on the concrete edges so they match up with the new concrete. More features are being built up with gravel and rebar.

Jackson Hole Skatepark:
May 7-13, 2023: Construction on the Jackson Hole Skatepark Phase 3 Expansion is in full swing! The shapes of the new features are beginning to show in the gravel base and some of the rebar as been set.
Outlook for May 14-20: The Skatepark will be closed for the summer and into the fall, but we are looking forward to the completed result!

2023 CAPITAL PROJECTS
Wilson Boat Ramp
The Wilson Boat Ramp project was designed to improve river access and traffic flow. The project includes paving the access road, a portion of the levee and the construction of a one-way loop, A series of pathways, a new bathroom and an informational kiosk will also be built. Parking for passenger vehicles and trailers, as well as a rigging area, are also included in the project.
Skate Park Expansion
The Jackson Hole Skatepark is expanding! Funding for the project was donated by Audrey and Scott Blum as well as many local businesses and members of the skateboard community. The existing skatepark, located on the TCSD #1 campus, was built in two phases, the first in 2001 and the second in 2006. The final phase expands the skating surface to the area around the existing skatepark.
Pathways Capital Maintenance
Each year, pathways within the Teton County/Jackson system are selected to have maintenance activities completed. These pathways have cracks sealed, seal coat layer applied, and crosswalks/lines freshly painted. This maintenance makes the pathway last longer, increases safety, and provides a smoother surface.
