Ware House Road Shared Use Path Feasibility Study
Ware House Road Shared Use Path Feasibility Study
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is studying the feasibility of building a shared use path along Route 621 (Ware House Road) in Gloucester County, at the request of Gloucester County staff.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the potential to build a paved shared use path for pedestrians and bicyclists along Ware House Road from Route 17 Business (Main Street) to the Ware House Landing Boat Ramp at the Ware River. The planning study would determine the feasibility and preferred alignment of an approximate two-mile proposed path, and the costs associated to build a bicycle and pedestrian facility separated from the roadway, which would connect historic Main Street (Gloucester Village) to neighborhoods and a boat launch on Ware House Road.
This study will document existing conditions, assess the benefits and drawbacks of design alternatives, and develop cost estimates.
